Three Meat Soup

Ingredients

400g (14 oz.) smoked mutton
200g (7 oz.) slab bacon
200g (7 oz.) smoked pork sausage links
6 large potatoes
1 1/2 liters (quarts) water
5 dl (2 cups) buttermilk
2-3 Tbs. barley flour
flatbread

Instructions

1) Cut the meat, bacon, sausage and potatoes into 1 cm (1/2") cubes.

2) Bring the water to a boil and add mutton & bacon. Simmer until almost tender, about 45 min. Skim well. Add the sausage & potato and simmer until the potato is tender, about 10 min.

3) Whisk together buttermilk & flour and whisk into the soup.

4) Crumble flatbread into soup bowls. Pour over soup.

5) Serve with a lump of butter, syrup and gamalost. Enjoy!
