8 fresh ripe figs 1/2pt/300ml sweet white wine 1 cinnamon stick good fresh grating of nutmeg
Instructions
1) Wipe and quarter figs and place in a large shallow pan in one layer. Pour over white wine and then add the cinnamon and nutmeg.
2) Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 2 minutes, until just beginning to soften. Spoon into a pretty bowl and pour cooking juices over the top. Leave to cool and chill before serving.
