Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
125 g (4 1/2 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate
125 g (4 oz., 1/2 cup) unsalted butter
1 1/2 dl (2/3 cup) strong coffee
4 eggs
3 1/2 dl (1 1/2 cups) sugar
3 1/4 dl (1 1/3 cups) flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Frosting:
125 g (4 1/2 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate
1-2 Tbs. water
75 g (2 1/2 oz., 1/3 cup) butter
3 dl (1 1/4 cups) sifted confectioner's sugar
1 egg
liqueur or rum
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180 C (350 F).

Grease and flour a 24 cm (10") springform.

Break the chocolate into squares and melt with the butter over low heat. Add the coffee and cool slightly.

Beat the eggs with the sugar until light and lemon colored.

Sift the flour with the baking powder and fold into the batter. Stir in the chocolate.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

Bake 45 minutes. Cool in the pan 10 minutes, then remove. Cool completely on a rack.

Frosting:

Break the chocolate into squares and melt over low heat. Cool slightly.

Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and beat well. Gradually add the melted chocolate. Beat until smooth.

Cut the cake horizontally into 2-3 layers and sprinkle each with liqueur or rum.
12)
Spread a thin layer of frosting between the layers. Cover top and sides with remaining frosting. Enjoy!
