Milk Soup With Dumplings
Ingredients
1 1/2 liters (6 1/4 cups) full fat milk
Dumplings:
1 egg
2 Tbs. sugar
1 1/2 dl (2/3 cup) milk
6-7 dl (2 1/2-3 cups) flour
Instructions
1)
Bring the milk to a boil.
2)
Combine ingredients for the dumplings. The dough should be stiff. Let rest 10 minutes.
3)
Dip a spoon in the boiling milk, then use it to form dumplings of the dough.
4)
Drop into the milk, which should remain at a simmer at all times.
5)
The dumplings float to the top when cooked. Remove as ready.
6)
Serve the milk soup with dumplings with cinnamon-sugar after a meal of herring and potatoes.
