14oz/400g can red kidney beans, drained 1 1/2lb/700g best mince 1/2 Spanish onion, grated 2 cloves garlic, crushed salt and ground black pepper good dash tabasco sauce large Tbs. chopped parsley buns, lettuce and tomato slices to serve
Instructions
1) Coarsely chop red kidney beans or whizz for about 15 seconds in a processor. You don't want a puree-just rough them up a bit. Break up the mince with your hands add it to the bowl. Grate the onion directly on top so you don't lose any juice. Crush in the garlic the same way. Season and add a good dash of Tabasco sauce. Add 1 heaped Tbs. freshly chopped parsley.
2) Work all this together with your hands. Shape into burger-shaped rounds about 1in/2cm thick.
3) Fry in a little oil slowly until the outside is crusty and brown and the inside cooked.
