Barley Cakes

Ingredients

3 dl (1 1/4 cups) pearl barley
3 onions, minced
2 eggs
salt
nutmeg
ground allspice
1 dl (scant 1/2 cup) whipping cream
1 1/4 dl (1/2 cup) ground nuts or breadcrumbs

Instructions

1) Soak the barley in cold water overnight.

2) Cook until tender, about 20 minutes. Cool.

3) Combine with remaining ingredients.

4) Form small patties and fry on both sides in butter.

5) Serve with brown gravy, fried onions and cole slaw.
