1 pizza dough mix 4oz/100g mozzarella cheese, sliced 4 rashers streaky bacon 4 black olives few fresh oregano leaves, chopped or 1/2 tsp. dried oregano For the tomato sauce: 2 Tbs. oil 1 onion, peeled and finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, crushed 14oz/400g can chopped tomatoes salt and ground black pepper
Instructions
1) Make up pizza mix with water according to the instructions on the packet. Knead until smooth on a floured board, then leave i a warm place to rise until doubled in size.
2) Meanwhile make the tomato sauce. Heat oil in a large sauce pan and fry onion and garlic over a gentle heat until softened, but not brown. Add chopped tomatoes and bring to the boil. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, then turn heat down and simmer until sauce becomes thick and chunky. Cool slightly.
3) On a floured worktop, roll out dough. Leave 5 minutes more for it to rise a little. Spread with tomato sauce, then lay mozzarella slices on top. Grill bacon rashers lightly, then place on the cheese. Dot with olives and sprinkle over oregano.
4) Preheat oven to 400F, 200C then bake pizza for 20 minutes, or until dough is risen and golden, bacon is crisp, and cheese is oozing.
